"A textured mouthfeel, flawless balance, and simply delicious aromas: notice to lovers of exceptional tokaji!"

"Pineapple and honey aromas burst from the glass and are joined by sweeter notes of dried apricot and orange blossom. This medium amber-colored wine offers flavors of orange marmalade, apricot tart, honeycomb, rose petal, nutmeg and marzipan. Beautifully textured, with vibrant acidity that matches its high level of sweetness. Drink in 2043. Manual

Winemaking

Parcel selection, berry maceration for 2 days to swell, gentle pressing to obtain a high-density must, fermentation in new Hungarian wood barrels (100%) for up to 8 weeks.

Production method

This meticulous process is only possible in exceptional vintages and under conditions that favor Botrytis in the berries (the same process has been used for hundreds of years). Aszù corresponding to dried berries & "puttonyos" meaning "basket", the number before it, here "5", indicating the quantity of 25kg baskets of botrytized grapes added to a 136L "Gönc" barrel of must (unfermented grape juice) - so the higher the number, the higher the sugar content of your Tokaji!

Breeding

For 2 to 3 years in 136 and 200L barrels, then matured in bottles for a further 1 year.

Alcohol content

11,5%

Wine rated (guide 2023 ) 17.5/20

About the wine:

Pale apricot color. Very rich, dusty nose - like magic dust! Very fresh without heaviness. Very pure and fresh, but with lots of sweetness and a good hold on the finish. This wine should last a long time. 2023-2040
