Bibi Graetz

Bibi Graetz
Of Italian-Norwegian origin, Bibi Graetz moved to Tuscany after graduating in art from Florence's Academia dell'Arte, because he fell in love with wine. He decided to open his own winery in 2000, starting a collaboration with winemaker Alberto Antonini. It didn't take long for their wines to be considered great. They produce 10 cuvées, including the two Sangiovese presented here, which are refined, lively and aromatic, and seduce with their singular harmony.

Bibi Graetz's vineyards cover 80 hectares, 2 of which he owns, in the Fiesole hills above Florence.

Bibi Graetz, Tuscany's rising star, has become a veritable icon of the region. His wines are world-renowned and praised by the press for their consistent finesse and excellence. As an artist, Bibi Graetz designs his own wine labels.

"Bibi Graetz once again proves his genius in this colorful bottle, praised by critics the world over!

" [...] As Bibi explains, "Colore brings power and freshness, while Testamatta brings transparency and freshness." The Colore shows the pure energy and vivacity of Sangiovese with notes of violet, wild cherry and orange zest. The wine has an elegantly earthy side with a very delineated palate, driven by very fine, quiet tannins. It's a gorgeous wine with a delicately sweet cherry finish. Bibi has made few changes to this wine over the years (with the exception of installing a new winery in Fiesole) in order to achieve an ideal or benchmark Sangiovese. His 2021 is his best wine to date". (The Wine Advocate 2023) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 3 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

"An iconic Italian wine!"

"Very nice combination of dried fruits and spices with black cherries and plums. Aromas of flowers and sandalwood, too. Full-bodied and very refined, yet intense, with velvety, silky tannins that are wonderfully integrated and interwoven with the fruit. Ripe middle palate. Tight at the end, suggesting the need for serious bottle ageing. Very structured. Drink after 2025. (James Suckling 2022) "What I really love about Testamatta's fruit is that incredible sensation of strawberry mixed with vanilla aroma, a kind of strawberry whipped cream! It's incredibly fresh." (Bibi Graetz) - Wooden case delivery available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).
