Domaine Masseto
It's on the coast of Tuscany in Italynot far from the Tyrrhenian Sea, that in 1980 vines were planted, finally exploiting the immense potential of this hillside with its blue clay terroir.
These clods, known as "massi", inspired the Frescobaldi family, who moved in in 2017, to name their estate "Masseto". The vineyard is planted mainly with Merlot, a grape variety not usually grown in a Mediterranean climate. The estate's 2 cuvées, Masseto and its second wine Massetino, are wines highly recognized in Tuscan viticulture for their finesse and precision of fruit.
The grapes are harvested by hand. The wine is aged for 12 months in 50% new oak barrels, then blended and returned to barrel for a further 3 months before bottling.

"This wine is refined and fresh, with sandalwood notes adding to the gorgeous blue fruits. It's medium-bodied, with creamy, polished tannins framing blue fruits and notes of crushed stone. Succulent and juicy with a crisp personality. You want to take a sip right away. Masseto's second wine is of the highest quality. Very easy to drink and wonderful.
