Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domain rated (2020 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Christophe Peyrus, from the renowned Clos Marie, supported by three friends, has taken over an estate on the Cazevieille terroir in Pic Saint-Loup, in limestone areas at over 300 meters altitude, at the highest point in the appellation. The estate has 8.5 hectares in production, predominantly Syrah with Grenache. The estate produces two red cuvées, including spoutnik, and one white cuvée. These delicate wines need to be transported and stored with the same care as those from Clos Marie, as they are not well protected. The 2018 cuvée de pic saint-loup impressed us.

Wine rated (2019 guide) 15/20 (Good wine)
Domain rated (guide 2022) Selected (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the domains that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :
A new page is being written for this estate, located high up in the appellation, the only one in the village of Cazevieille. Bought in 2019 by Jean-Pierre Girard (already owner of an estate in Valflaunès), Clos des Reboussiers will remain in the same line as the estate previously named Christophe Peyrus, drawn since the first vintage in 2013. Christophe Peyrus ensures continuity and remains present to ensure that this little jewel (with its unique terroirs of flint to dolomite and pink limestone) continues to develop. Jean Vallon, the brilliant artist behind the project, creates an original label for the red wine every year; Spoutnik, the famous space-like concrete vat, remains firmly in place in the square cellar!
