The Legacy of Pic Saint Loup
In 2023, L'Ermitage du Pic Saint Loup will becomeL'Héritage du Pic Saint-Loup. This family estate is run by Jean-Marc, Pierre, and Xavier Ravaille. They have transformed the estate, which after the Revolution was home to sheep, olive trees, and vines, into a flagship of the Pic Saint-Loup appellation. For the Ravaille brothers, producing wine means constantly striving for perfection. Nestled in the foothills of the massif, on the hills of Saint Mathieu de Tréviers, the estate has been farmed biodynamically for several years now,and since 2009 has been committed to organic farming, certified since 2012.

In the Pic Saint Loup area, during the grape ripening cycle, there are significant temperature variations, particularly in summer when the days are hot and the nights are cool. These temperature variations are a distinctive feature of the Pic Saint Loup climate and contribute to the wine's unique character. The estate's vineyards Héritaage of Pic Saint Loup are harvested manually at the peak of ripeness, preferably in the cool hours of the morning. Here, we select fruit whose yield has been controlled during pruning, and we take care of it from the moment it is picked until it is placed in the vats, with minimal stress. The vinification of the wines of theHériPic Saint Loup stage is the crowning glory. The three brothers put their heart and soul into it. Separate vinification, by terroir and grape variety. Their identity and authenticity shine through in blends aged for one to two years in vats or in barrels whose wood is chosen according to the grape variety contained.
