Magellan Estate
Visit Magellan Estatelocated in Magalas, north of Béziers, was created in 1999 by Bruno Lafon and Sylvie Legros, who found a majority of plots perfectly suited to quality production.

Visit Magellan Estate has 31.5 ha planted, of which 29 ha are PDO. The vines are planted on the slopes of 2 hills with two distinct terroirs: the "Pech Redon" terroir (the round hill), composed of Triassic sandstone, and the Villafranchien terroir, with Quaternary terraces typical of the Piscénois region. In the vineyard, we had to rethink our cultivation practices and apply the rules of the art: Sylvie and Bruno introduced the Magellan estate the 100% manual harvest, a forgotten practice on these superb terroirs, and see the vines certified organic from 2010. A new cellar has also been built, vast, efficient and functional: pampering and respecting the grapes are also part of the Magellan style, where vinification is classic and meticulous.

"After 15 years, we have found our truth and are in tune with ourselves. The cultures have found each other, melted together and the identity has now been created". say these rigorous and talented winemakers.

"Superb value for money for this subtle cuvée".

This Pinot Noir has fine floral, raspberry and anise notes, complemented by a certain salinity. The palate is juicy but balanced by tones of undergrowth and clove. Subtle tension between acidity and fine tannins, with good length.

90/100 Wine Spectator

Notes : Guide Hachette 2**(Remarkable wine), Wine Spectator 90/100
"An intense, powerful wine with an almost black purple color. The aromatic palette reflects the surrounding garrigue, complemented by cherry brandy. On the palate, it combines concentration and freshness, roundness and well-crafted tannins. If it can be served now with prime rib, it's still a wine in the making". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins)
