"A 100% Syrah cuvée that's gourmet and accessible, with superb value for money.

"The Syrah XB is as floral as you could wish. The violet comes through behind a slight reduction that quickly fades in the glass. The palate is once again tender and sensual." (Le Guide RVF 2025).

Rated wine (guide 2025 ) 91/100

Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the wine:

Syrah XB is as floral as one could wish. The violet comes through behind a slight reduction that quickly fades in the glass. The palate is once again tender and sensual.

About the domain :

The son of a winegrower, Xavier Braujou set up his own estate in 1998, divided between Aniane and Saint-Jean-de-Fos. This solitary and determined artisan-winemaker, a former lumberjack, makes wines of great character, the fruit of a huge amount of work on old gobelet vines with very low yields, averaging around 20 hl/ha. His guiding principles can be summed up in two words: finesse and freshness. Far from the constraints of the appellation, he has always worked with a single grape variety, blending his different terroirs. Extraction is gentle, ageing is long and the wines are never made with new oak. A confidential and indispensable address, prized by connoisseurs and top sommeliers alike. The exceptional level observed over several vintages leads us to award it our second star without hesitation.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 19/08/2024

Quite singular in the Languedoc, this 100% Syrah is natural, fluid and gourmet. A well-marked bomb of fresh, vibrant red and black fruits and sweet spices instantly releases an extremely juicy texture on the palate, with great freshness and a certain elegance on a well-adjusted, supple, velvety frame. Impressive length on a refreshing finish with lingering perfumes. A hyper-expressive buddy wine that's so easy to drink, one glass calls for another if you're not careful, with fine grilled red meats. Score = 4.
