Les Carlines opens with a nose of crunchy fruit and spicy notes. The palate responds with an abundance of fruity flavors dominated by blackcurrant and crushed blueberry. The aromatic complexity harmonizes with a lovely tension. A beautiful, elegant bottle!

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France

Domaine rated (2024 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
With this fresh vintage, Olivier Jeantet has once again produced a high-altitude wine marked by its salivating tension. A hint of vegetation, reflecting its lofty but noble origins (menthol, eucalyptus). It also speaks a tangy language (raspberry, blood orange).
About the domain :
Mas Haut-Buis is first and foremost an exceptional high-altitude site, nestled some 650 meters above sea level between garrigue, olive and almond trees. The 14 hectares are made up of no fewer than twelve separate plots. Olivier Jeantet, who settled here in 1999, is a self-taught winemaker who quickly grasped the secrets of the trade and the exacting standards required to produce great wines of character, reflecting the tension and uprightness of the Terrasses du Larzac. A heritage of old vines, hard work in the vineyard, ageing in large containers and meticulously thought-out blends have enabled this estate to become one of the appellation's leading names.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 23/08/2023
Still in its puberty, this entry-level 2021 has a soft, fine, invigorating mouthfeel with a tight, indocile tannicity that should be left to relax in the cellar. Without being rustic, the result is a singular wine, slightly austere, a touch wild, with a dusty, invigorating texture that distills light black fruits and blood orange, combined with notes of sweet spices and roasting. Bitters stretch the finish, which is moderately persistent and endowed with a chalky freshness. All in all, a wine of sobriety and finesse, but one that's a bit boring at this stage. Nonetheless, Les Carlines could make a few happy customers in one or two years' time. Indeed, the careful vinification and meticulous ageing are guarantees of long ageing. For the time being, this easily digestible buddy wine was shared with fricandeaux from Aveyron, accompanied by arugula. The expensive nature of this entry-level wine further impacts the score = 3.6.
