Domaine Hubert - Châteaumeillant Origines rouge 2022
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"An unusual and charming blend, created from a combination of Gamay and Pinot Noir grapes."
"This superb cuvée, composed of 70% Gamay and 30% Pinot Noir, is born from sandy, sandstone soil. Garnet ruby with black highlights, the color is as deep as it is brilliant. The nose confirms this impression of concentration, coupled with complexity: fleeting animal notes (leather, venison), followed by ripe, jammy fruit. With well-refined tannins, the palate is supple and displays intense fruitiness. Enjoyable now, this wine can also be appreciated in a few years." (Le Guide Hachette 2025).

Note and opinion by Mr. GILLES D. Published on 04/02/2025
With its abundant fruit and juicy texture infused with crushed red berries and subtle peppery notes, this blend of Gamay and Pinot Noir produces a wine that is light, fresh, and round with persistent acidity, supported by discreet, silky tannins. Affordable price. This cheerful and delicious Châteaumeillant is a pleasant tasting experience to enjoy with friends during a springtime cocktail party, for example with a guinea fowl and mushroom pie accompanied by arugula and/or crispy pork rinds. Rating: 3.8.
