Fabrice Gasnier Estate

The Domaine Fabrice Gasnier has been a family estate for four generations, located around the village of Chezelet, in the commune of Cravant-les-Coteaux. Since 2000, it has been run by Fabrice and Sandrine Gasnier, who have transitioned it to organic farming. The Domaine Fabrice Gasnier is now ECOCERT certified. To go even further, the entire estate has now switched to biodynamic farming and is Demeter certified.

The Domaine Fabrice Gasnier vineyard covers 27 hectares planted with Cabernet Franc. It is based on two types of soil: gravelly, stony soil (this rock has the particularity of storing heat during the day and releasing it at night), and soil composed of clay and sand (this type of soil forces the vines to draw their nutrients from deep underground). The subsoil is composed solely of limestone, known as Touraine tuffeau. All work in the vineyard is carried out manually.

The Chinon wines from Domaine Fabrice Gasnier do not undergo any yeast addition; they ferment using natural yeasts. Fermentation is gentle and steady, reflecting the terroirs of the estate.
