Bettane & Desseauve
"A superb parcel, refined and complex".
"Les Epinays, aged in barrel for 9 months, then 9 months in foudre, amphora and ovoid concrete vats. Immediately, an obvious attention to detail emerges on the nose. It's the same on the velvety, refined palate, carried along by wild energy. Don't open this wine before 2025. (Le Guide RVF 2025)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated wine (guide 2025 ) 91/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
President of the Montlouis appellation, Damien Delecheneau produces, on his 15 hectares of biodynamically farmed land, wines with a pedagogical approach that can serve as examples for the Touraine, Touraine - Amboise and Montlouis appellations. The vintages are extremely precise and natural; between 15 and 30 euros, they're a bargain. The reds express their floral juiciness. The old côt vines erase the varietal's rusticity to achieve perfect balance. The whites, with their subtle texture, are harvested at perfect maturity and are always well-balanced. These are full-bodied, pure wines with a mineral finish that rings true. A charming address not to be missed. This year's favorites are the côt vieilles vignes from Amboise and the Montlouis nouveau nez...

About the domain :
From their 15-hectare vineyard in Montlouis-sur-Loire, Touraine and Touraine-Amboise, Coralie and Damien Delecheneau have established themselves as industry leaders. With the greatest respect for nature and their terroirs, the couple cultivate their old vines biodynamically (certified in 2014). Several of the côt vines are even a hundred years old, producing a cuvée of remarkable depth and subtlety. In the cellar, the two oenologists skilfully and sensitively accompany healthy grapes harvested at perfect maturity. From vinification to ageing in concrete vats and old barrels, everything is absolutely fair and measured, and these great, nuanced wines never lapse into exuberance. When each bottle is opened, the chenin whites reveal themselves with rare purity and delicacy, while the reds captivate with their subtlety and floral radiance.

About the wine:
Montlouis-sur-Loire Les Epinays 2022 is a fruity, soft wine. It was fermented and aged 18-19 months in barrel with indigenous yeasts. A note of sweet oak and a hint of creamy vanilla accompany nectarine and pear. Unaltered and unfiltered, this is a wine of great finesse and fragrance.
