La Tour Gallus
The La Tour Gallus located in Gorges, the same name as the Cru communal, in the heart of the Nantes vineyards, 4 km from Clisson. Handed down from father to son for nine generations since 1680, it is now run by Damien Rineau, a passionate and discreet winemaker. He puts all his oenological know-how and technical skills at the service of the estate, in order to produce authentic cuvées in the purest expression of the terroir he holds so dear.

Domaine de la Tour Gallus extends over 17 hectares of vines, with a splendid, peaceful view over the village of Gorges. Melon de Bourgogne, the Muscadet grape variety, is laden with salt and iodine mists, and flourishes here, on the border between land and ocean, on a magmatic rock called "Gabbro" in its altered form, which is also found in the Douro in Portugal.

Since Damien Rineau took over the vineyard in the 80s, treatments on the bunches treatments have been banned. The Tour Gallus vineyard is certified Terra Vitis and HVE "Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3", and now all the vines are cultivated between the vines, with a strip of grass between the rows. Here, the winemaker goes far beyond the requirements of the Terra Vitis or HVE level 3 specifications. The 2022 vintage will be certified organic.
