The greatest wine of the Loire Valley! It benefits from a unique terroir and location, rare pedigree and elegance, and a remarkable texture that combines power and clarity, richness and precision. It combines a very floral bouquet with notes of citrus and orchard fruits. A great Quarts de Chaume!

Gault & Millau Wine Guide

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau

Rated estate (2012 guide) 5 stars (Outstanding production)

About the estate:

The Baumard family settled at the Giraudière estate in 1959. Florent Baumard joined his father, Jean, in 1987 and now runs the estate. Here, we alternate between tilling the soil and grass cover (every other row) in order to preserve the microbiological fauna and its humus potential, and to prevent soil compaction. Thanks to his perfect mastery of winemaking and a keen understanding of the identity of each of his terroirs, Florent Baumard offers an astonishing range of wines."
