Domaine Delaporte's red Sancerre Chavignol represents the very identity of the estate. Derived from the vineyard's different types of limestone soils, the Pinot Noir here reveals a fruity intensity. The flesh is round, juicy and fresh. An accessible Sancerre with a sapid, salivating finish.

Domaine Delaporte
Sancerre
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Mathieu Delaporte is one of the young winemakers who are now making the Sancerrois region famous. His 33 hectares, mainly located in Chavignol, are cultivated with great care and are highly original, with 50 different parcels, 80% of them south-facing. In addition, 35% of the vines are planted on flint soils, a rare proportion in the Sancerrois region. This richness of terroir enables the production of great parcel-based cuvées and complete, harmonious blends. As prices are still reasonable, you'll need to reserve immediately after the harvest, as success is beginning to make itself known!

About the domain :
Handed down from generation to generation since the 17th century, and now run by Jean-Yves Delaporte and his son Matthieu, this 33-hectare family estate is located in Chavignol, a charming village in the heart of the Sancerre region renowned for its goat's cheese.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated wine (guide 2023) 90/100 (Vintage 2020)
Domaine noté (guide 2024) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list, and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
In 2010, the arrival of Matthieu Delaporte shifted the focus of this historic Chavignol estate towards working the soil, stopping the use of herbicides, lowering yields and barrel vinification. Two of Chavignol's vineyard sites are in the spotlight: the mythical south-facing Monts Damnés hillside, and Culs de Beaujeu, famous elsewhere for its whites, here planted with pinot noir. In organic conversion since 2020, the thirty-something is moving forward serenely. We're convinced that his precise, technically impeccable wines can still be unleashed to give us more emotion.
