Denis Dubourdieu had spotted the untapped potential of Maltese terroirs. In the 1980s, he joined forces with Mark Miceli-Farrugia to create Meridiana Estate. On the death of Denis Dubourdieu, a large Italian family took over the business. Meridiana Estate The Antinori family, already owners of the prestigious Sassicaia and Orneillaia. 

Meridiana Estate enjoys a temperate Mediterranean climate. The 17 hectares of vines, planted on limestone soils and swept by sea breezes, produce pure, taut wines with a saline finish.
