Niepoort

In 1842, Franciscus Marius van der Niepoort, born in Holland, settled in Portugal to establish the Niepoort company, a producer of Port wines. Striking a balance between centuries-old tradition and innovation, five generations ofNiepoorts havesincesucceeded one another, bringing their expertise and commitment to this estate in the Douro Valley. 

Niepoort was originally an undisputed specialist in Port wines. It was only in 1991 that Dirk Niepoort, the fifth generation, created the first Redoma cuvée, after purchasing his first estate in the Douro Valley in 1987.
