Côtes de Provence
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2018 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Since 2006, this estate has belonged to Sacha Lichine, former owner of Château Prieuré-Lichine in Margaux. With the help of Patrick Léon (ex-Mouton-Rothschild), he has largely taken over to produce wines of great definition. Their Garrus cuvée is probably the most expensive Provence rosé on the market.

About the domain :
A famous match manufacturer from Marseilles in the 1850s, Joseph Toussaint Caussemille was one of the many owners of Château d'Esclans, and gave his name to the estate, which was commissioned by a 19th-century building inspired by Tuscan villas and built on the remains of a medieval château. Sacha Lichine, son of the late Alexis Lichine, former owner of Château Prieuré-Lichine, took over this 267-hectare estate (including 44 hectares of vines) in 2006, renowned for its wood-aged rosés.
