Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange
Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange is owned by the Mestre family, one of the oldest in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, who have been operating the vineyard for several generations. In the 1960s, Monique and Jean-Claude Mestre created their own estate with part of the vineyard from the locality known as Coteau de l'Ange, taking over the family brand. The estate is now run by their daughter Corinne and her husband Yannick Gasparri.

The Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange vineyard is 40 years old on average, and extends over 14 hectares of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with clay-limestone soils and large rounded pebbles, and 3 hectares of Côtes-du-Rhône, planted in sandy soils.

The vines at Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange benefit from very special care, following the precepts of sustainable agriculture (disbudding, green harvesting, controlled inputs...). The aim is to produce grapes that are as healthy as possible, while scrupulously respecting the environment. Domaine de la Côte de l'Ange produces great terroir wines.

2*Coup de Coeur Hachette

93/100 Robert Parker

"In the Gasparri family since 1920, this consistently high-quality estate has reached a milestone with this remarkable cuvée from start to finish. The dark, dense color heralds a fine concentration. The nose, both powerful and elegant, blends red and black fruits, garrigue, fresh leather and a few animal touches. Ample and long, the palate charms with its softness and richness, underlined by well-established yet velvety tannins. A model of harmony, this wine will gain in complexity over the next five years". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2014)
