Domaine Alain Voge
In 1958, Alain Voge joined the family estate, which had been established in Cornas for several generations. He undertook major changes in the way the estate operated: abandoning mixed farming, replanting abandoned hillsides and selling direct from the bottle. Gradually, Domaine Alain Voge gained a reputation for the quality of its Saint-Péray and Cornas wines.

In the 2000s, the Alain Voge estate took a new direction with the conversion of its Saint-Péray vineyards to organic viticulture, under the guidance of Albéric Mazoyer, who has been the estate manager since 2004. Convinced of the need to respect the terroir, he began managing the estate biodynamically in 2013. Handcrafted, manual methods are used to produce top-quality Marsanne and Syrah grapes that best express the terroir of the Right Bank of the Rhône.

An emblematic figure in the Rhône region, Alain Voge passed away in September 2020 at the age of 81. Lionel Fraisse, who joined the domaine in 2012 and was Albéric Mazoyer's right-hand man, is taking over management of the estate with the existing team.

"A silky, fleshy version of Cornas, just divine!

"Precise and subtle, the nose combines violets, wild strawberries, Sichuan pepper and aromatic herbs (sage, savory). Intense, caressing, supported by a firm, long tannic structure, the palate is convincing with its fresh finish, tinged with a singular bitterness". (Hachette 2024)

"A rich, structured wine with concentration balanced by minerality".

"Notes of honeyed orange, rose, spice and crushed-stone-like minerals emerge from Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol 2022, a well-balanced, medium-bodied wine with good acidity, structure, concentrated mouthfeel and remarkable length. It's a wonderful wine that will benefit from a year in bottle and, I think, will still drink very well in 2032." (Jeb Dunnuck 2024)

"A faithful expression of the personality of the Marsanne grape variety".

This charming cuvée is made from a blend of different parcels, in order to express as faithfully as possible the personality of the Marsanne grape variety. The result is a delicious Saint-Péray, with a classic nose and a hint of almond, and a fresh, harmonious palate.

This estate has once again produced a superb Saint-Joseph, fragrant with floral incense, lavender, spices, wild strawberries and blueberries. Its soft, round texture and delicate, ripe tannins already make it irresistible. It will be perfect after 2 or 3 years in bottle, and should be kept for a decade or so.
