Domaine Alain Voge - Côtes-du-Rhône Les Peyrouses 2021
3/5 (1 review)
90/100 RVF
Made from young Cornas vines, with organic grapes purchased in certain years, Côtes du Rhône les Peyrouses is juicy, fruity and peppery, with notes of plum, blackberry and licorice. A deliciously drinkable, polished and elegant style.

"Concentrated, medium to full-bodied and beautifully balanced on the palate, it follows the fresher, more elegant style of the vintage, while offering plenty of mid-palate depth, ripe tannins and an excellent finish. [...] It's impressive." (Jeb Dunnuck 2024) - Attention, limited quantities.

"Precise and subtle, the nose marries violet, wild strawberry, Sichuan pepper and aromatic herbs (sage, savory). Intense, caressing, supported by a firm, long tannic structure, the palate is convincing with its fresh finish, tinged with a singular bitterness". (Hachette 2024)
Domaine Alain Voge - Saint-Péray Les Bulles d'Alain 2019

With this Brut Nature cuvée, Domaine Alain Voge perpetuates the tradition of Saint-Péray méthode traditionnelle that has made the reputation of the Saint-Péray region since the 1830s.

"Notes of honeyed orange, rose, spice and crushed-stone-like minerals emerge from Saint-Péray Fleur De Crussol 2022, a well-balanced, medium-bodied wine with good acidity, structure, concentrated mouthfeel and remarkable length. It's a wonderful wine that will benefit from a year in bottle and, I think, will still drink very well in 2032." (Jeb Dunnuck 2024)

This charming cuvée is made from a blend of different parcels, in order to express as faithfully as possible the personality of the Marsanne grape variety. The result is a delicious Saint-Péray, with a classic nose and a hint of almond, and a fresh, harmonious palate.

91/100 Vinous
The vines, which are around fifty years old, are planted on very old Rhône alluvium Rhone, enriched with granitic colluvium. The presence of limestone and clay in the soil The presence of limestone and clay in the soil explains the wine's distinctive minerality and freshness. On the nose, notes of marzipan, hazelnut and vanilla emerge. The palate is round but not excessively fatty, with a fresh acidity. The style is long and lively, with restrained power and hints of minerality, adding freshness and subtlety. What class!

This estate has once again produced a superb Saint-Joseph, fragrant with floral incense, lavender, spices, wild strawberries and blueberries. Its soft, round texture and delicate, ripe tannins already make it irresistible. It will be perfect after 2 or 3 years in bottle, and should be kept for a decade or so.
