Lafoy Estate
The 9-hectare estate created in 1993 by Jocelyne & Yves Lafoy is located in the village of Ampuis, in the heart of the Côte Rôtie vineyards. The Lafoy family has been in the wine business for three generations. Since the end of 2011, Gaëtan, Yves and Jocelyne's eldest son, has joined his parents on the estate after various travels and professional experiences. His first vintage, 2012, combines the father's experience and the son's youth, and is proving to be a great success.

Climats, terroirs and appellations are just some of the differences that make this prestigious region so unique. The vines are planted in narrow terraces, built on steep hillsides with vertiginous slopes. These very typical growing conditions enable us to produce great wines in a climate known as the Lyonnais, which perfectly combines the heat and sunshine of the Mediterranean climate with the coolness and humidity provided throughout the year by the continental influences of the Burgundy lands further north.

In Côte-Rôtie, there are two very distinct terroirs: Côte Brune to the north, with its iron-rich micaschists, and Côte Blonde to the south, composed of gneiss and clayey sands known as "arzels". The Condrieu AOC cultivates its identity by being the only one to have chosen a grape variety composed entirely of Viognier. This grape variety is perfectly suited to the gneiss terroirs planted on very steep granite slopes. Viognier takes full advantage of the Mediterranean heat and sunshine.

Yves and Gaëtan are both passionate about respecting the terroir, the vines and the harvest.
Together, they cultivate 9 ha of vines in Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu, Saint-Joseph and IGP Collines Rhodaniennes.

Combining power and elegance, with aromas of citrus, preach and apricot, "Aux Ruses" is a Condrieu you'll quickly fall under the spell of. This south-facing lieu-dit is full-bodied and fat on the palate, with a hint of the minerality typical of Granit. A superb gastronomic white!

From blond soils on the Leyat, Côte blonde, Fongeant, La Brosse and Le Truchet parcels, Cuvée Prélude benefits from 20 months' barrel ageing. Its nose of black berries and violets, tinged with spices and camphor, leads to a smooth, delicate, delicate palate. Concentrated, structured by delicate tannins and marked by a certain freshness on the finish, this is a Côte-Rôtie of nuances.
