Domaine du Joncier
Visit Joncier estate located between the villages of Tavel and Lirac, was founded in 1964 by Pierre Roussel, an agricultural engineer. In 1970, the winery was opened in the heart of the magnificent village of Tavel. Since 1989, his daughter Marine Roussel the estate to new heights. The magnetism of this exceptional terroir, the strength of the soil and the magic of the magic of vines and wine. Today, she manages the estate with passion.

In 1989, Marine Roussel, a graphic designer by trade and daughter of Pierre Roussel, returned to the family estate, returning to her roots and breathing new life into the Domaine du Joncier. Self-taught, she learned her new trade as a winemaker, but in her own way, through encounters and reading.

Today, Domaine du Joncier boasts 32 hectares of vines in Tavel, all biodynamically farmed and Demeter-certified. Marine Roussel is determined to put her trust in her Lirac terroir and grape varieties: mourvèdre, grenache, syrah, etc., favoring low yields, gentle vinification with minimal intervention (no yeast, no wood), and very long macerations. The result is wines that are upright in their boots, intense without being excessive, distinguished without being feminine. A balancing act between the soul of the terroir, the temperament of the grape variety and the creativity of a winemaker who has finally found her calling.

Gorged with black and red fruits and mentholated notes, this beautiful southern blend, with 65% Grenache complemented by Syrah, Cinsault and Carignan, intoxicates the glass. Powerful and full-bodied on the palate, it demonstrates all the character of the region's wines. A fine representative of the Lirac appellation , it's the perfect accompaniment to a fine piece of grilled red meat!
