"At once rich and airy, this is an elegant Roussette!
"Vinified without sulfur, this Roussette is a blend of 80% Altesse aged six months in vats and Altesse aged six months in barrels. Intense aromas of flowers, apple and poached pear develop in a mouth that's still lively, with good fruity length. Wait or decant to allow the flavors to harmonize". (Le Guide Hachette 2024).

Roussette de Savoie
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2024) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Following the death of his father in 2011, Fabien began recovering family vineyards with his partner Chloé. Today, the estate has grown to 25 hectares, mainly in Arbin, half red, half white. A new winery was built in 2017. The reds are in the process of being certified organic, and the whites will follow. The estate is experimenting with aging in amphorae and concrete eggs. The range is representative of Savoy wines, well distributed and at affordable prices. The domaine is going from strength to strength.

About the domain :
Fabien Trosset took over the family domaine in 2011 following the death of his father: at the time, 7 ha in Arbin - one of the crus devoted to Mondeuse - and a harvest delivered entirely to the cooperative. Today, the winemaker vinifies on the estate and has increased the planted area to 24 ha, a large part of which is devoted to Mondeuse.

Domaine noté (guide 2024) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
In 2011, Fabien Trosset and his partner Chloé took over the estate from Jean-Louis Trosset, first cousin of Louis and Joseph Trosset. In 2013, they expanded the estate with part of the Joseph Trosset vineyard. Most of the vineyard is planted on the Arbin terroir, featuring the Mondeuse grape variety, whose interpretations range from flowing fruit wines to ambitiously aged cuvées. Perfectly mastered, the wines, including the whites, have undeniably gained in definition.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 21/01/2024
Fresh and tender on the palate, revealing a mishmash of slightly cloying floral and white-fruit aromas framed by a sustained minerality. Unctuous body. The fine, light finish ends on a hint of spicy bitterness. As it is, it lacks precision and expression. It would therefore be appropriate to wait a little. A rather expensive Roussette, as there are much better wines at this price level, notably from Domaine J. Perrier. Its Alpine character makes it ideal for local cuisine (Savoyard fondue, grilled fario trout with thyme and herbs). Score = 3.5.
