Château Plaisance is the estate of the Penavayre family, who have been cultivating vines in Vacquiers for several generations, in the heart of the Fronton and Vin de Pays du comté Tolosan appellations. The estate was taken over and expanded by Marc Penavayre in 1991, taking over from his father Louis. Today, Château Plaisance boasts 30 hectares of vines.
In the early 2000s, Château Plaisance refocused on gentle growing techniques, working the vines as closely as possible to the terroir, without fertilizers or weedkillers, giving priority to natural products, harvesting a very ripe, very healthy, sorted crop, and vinification guided by the idea of "letting the earth speak". According to this principle, the wines are fermented with natural yeasts, present on the grape skins, which guarantee the varietal typicity.
Château Plaisance officially qualified as organic from the 2011 vintage (QUALITE France SAS FR BIO 10).
