Western Cape

The Western Cape is a vast wine-growing region in South Africa, renowned for being the country's main wine-producing area.

The first vines were planted there in 1655 by settlers. The French Huguenots, who arrived later, brought their knowledge and contributed to the development of viticulture in this region.

The region is home to many famous appellations such as Stellenbosch, Paarl, and Franschhoek.

It has a maritime climate, with constant warmth and plenty of sunshine.
