Lourens Family Wines
After having traveled the world for many years to discover the different wine-making processes, Franco Lourens returned to South Africa, and worked with some big names, including Chris Alheit. In 2016, he opened Lourens Family Wines in his native Paarl Valley. He works mainly on his own, with the help of his wife Lindi, and makes four wines from his project.

"Grenache Noir Lula Ilse Single Vineyard 2022 is aged in 300-liter French oak barrels. The pure bouquet presents aromas of raspberry coulis, white pepper and light touches of clove and black olive. The medium-bodied palate with supple tannins is very harmonious and precise, with a persistent, sophisticated finish that testifies to very assiduous winemaking. Superb. 2025-2040" (Vinous 2023)
