Domaine Borès
Visit Domaine Borèsnestled in the heart of the Alsatian valleys, is owned by Marie-Claire and Pierre Borès and their daughter Marion, who is about to take over the reins.

The 10-hectare Domaine Borès vineyard lies at the foot of the Ungersberg hill, on schistose soil. A large proportion of the Borès family's vines are planted on slopes of up to 52%, with full southern exposure. Domaine Borès uses sustainable viticulture methods, in keeping with their terroirs, which are home to the main Alsatian grape varieties (Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat, Sylvaner...).

Domaine Borès perfectly controls the ripeness of the grapes during harvest to produce great wines with just the right amount of sweetness.

3*Coup de Coeur Hachette

pinot gris
desserts
liquoreux

This cuvée confirms the strengths of the Schieferberg, a high-altitude schist terroir that earned the domaine a "coup de coeur" last year for a sweet Riesling from the same vintage. This sweet wine impresses from the outset: its intense, coppery-amber color announces its concentration. Very open, the nose unfurls a captivatingly complex palette of dried and candied fruits (apricot, quince, fig, date) enhanced by notes of coffee and pepper. These candied aromas carry through to a full, rich palate of rare density, tautened by an acidic edge that underscores its long finish. The perfect wine for meditation. (Residual sugar: 169 g/l.)" 3*Coup de Coeur Hachette

"From their high-altitude vineyards, with their schist soils, these winemakers like to make sweet or syrupy wines. Like this mellow yellow-gold wine, which leaves beautiful tears on the sides of the glass. Intense and rich on the nose, it blends exotic fruits with hints of candied lemon, honey and quince. This noble rot-like register is echoed on the palate, with beeswax rounding out the palette. The texture, too, is superb: this wine shines with its smoothness, fullness and softness, without the slightest heaviness, as the acidity of the grape variety is there to give freshness and length". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2020) Gourmet finesse!
