Bodega Monteviejo is the fruit of an adventure launched in 1998 when oenologist Michel Rolland and Jean-Michel Arcautedecided to embark on an ambitious winegrowing project. Argentina offered both the space and the opportunity to plant without reserve, with a promising end result: a great wine on a good terroir at an attractive price... They have enough arguments to bring together seven investors, all winegrowers(Catherine Péré-Vergé owner of Château Montviel in Pomerol, but also Laurent Dassault owner in Saint-Emilion, as well as Bertrand Otto representing La Compagnie Vinicole E. Rotschild, and Bertrand Cuvelier) around a fine viticulture project in the province of Mendoza. Bodega Monteviejo will be created at Vistaflores, an estate of 847 hectares of vines.
