The first woman to earn the title of oenologist in Argentina, Susana Balbo worked for the biggest wine producers before realizing her dream of owning her own vineyard. In 1999, Susana Balbo Wines was born, an estate in the heart of Luján de Cuyo in the province of Mendoza. Recognized as "Woman of the Year 2015" by The Drink Business magazine, Susana Balbo has nothing left to prove. Today, her children, José and Ana, are continuing her work.
Susana Balbo Wines represents the main international grape varieties (Malbec, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, etc.) as well as indigenous varieties (Torrontés).
For Susana Balbo, a good winemaker is someone who has mastered the art of blending not only grape varieties but also terroirs.
