Clos de Mez Estate
Clos de Mez is a family estate run by women for three generations, and now managed by Marie-Elodie Zighera. The almost 6-hectare vineyard produces wines in the Fleurie and Morgon appellations.

Most of the soil at Clos de Mez consists of granite broken down into pink sand called "gore", and some parcels in the Fleurie appellation are set on steep slopes. The Clos de Mez philosophy is based on a single conviction: "70% of the quality of the wine depends on the quality of the grapes". Since 2006, we have been working the soil, controlling yields through strict pruning and disbudding, and harvesting the grapes exclusively by hand. The average age of the plots is 40 years, and they are planted with Gamay Noir with white juice. Marie-Elodie Zighera uses her knowledge as an oenologist to understand the know-how of her elders, and to offer an authentic wine of character and ageing potential, without superfluous or exuberant aromas!

"For the 2018 dowry, the vintage's maturity signs the cuvée. The nose is intense, with candied cherry, peppermint and licorice. The palate is round, caressing and delicate. Long-lasting, salivating and chocolaty". (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2022 - RVF). Born of pink stone, La Dot is an airy, chiselled and taut cru. A fine tribute to the winemaker's grandmother, who received these parcels as a wedding dowry.

" From the northeast sector of the appellation, this cru distills nuances of potpourri, Armenian paper paper, cherry syrup and fine wood. The substance of the cru is evident on the palate, with volume and roundness, the tannin present but poised. The The finish, tightly wound with rock and wood, needs two or three years to mellow. to melt ". (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2021 - RVF) A Terrien par excellence, this is a must-have with its solid structure and deep substance.
