Sophie and Guillaume Joncy
Winegrowers in the family since 1619, the Joncy family settled in Quincié en Beaujolais at the beginning of the 18th century in the Chavagnon house, located in the middle of the vineyards, facing south with a magnificent view of Mont Brouilly. For several generations, the Joncy family worked in mixed farming: cows and vines. The generations followed one another until Jean-Paul took over the business in 1978 with 5 hectares of Beaujolais-Villages. Guillaume, the son, joined the domaine at the age of 18. Guillaume's wife Sophie joined the adventure in 2013 (she herself comes from a 6-generation family of Brouilly winemakers). Will their two children, Paul and Victor, pursue this same passion?

At Domaine Joncy, most of the work in the vineyard is done by hand.
Sophie and Guillaume Joncy are committed to the terroir and the environment, and produce organic wines. The winemaking process blends tradition and modernity, resulting in cuvées that are both typical and unique. Situated in the middle of the vineyards in Quincié, the Domaine faces due south, with a magnificent view of Mont Brouilly.

Today, the domaine covers 25 hectares in the following appellations: Beaujolais, Beaujolais-Villages, Beaujolais Quincié, Côte de Brouilly, Morgon, Régnié and Chiroubles. The grape varieties used are Gamay, Chardonnay and Pinot. "The winemaker's strength lies in sublimating and revealing his terroirs, highlighting the soil, the climate and his passion. Each plot is unique. The entire production is vinified and bottled at the Domaine in their new winery built in 2014.

"A great success

"The 2020 vintage saw the culmination of the estate's organic certification. The vines were clearly eager to give back to the winemakers the extra effort they had put in. The wine is clean and frank on the nose. After a lovely, full and lively attack on the palate, the tannins are immediately fine and silky, supporting a soft, greedy texture that delicately coats the palate. The overall impression is one of power without sacrificing harmony. A great success". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2023)
