Domaine Grégoire Hoppenot
Years of experience in the Beaujolais wine trade have made Grégoire Hoppenot aware of the fundamental importance of great terroirs in making great wines. As he likes to say, "real estate professionals like to say that only location matters in determining the value of a property. For a wine it's the same: the origin is fundamental." Now a winegrower in Fleurie, Grégoire Hoppenot works his 9 ha of vines like a garden, and is fortunate to benefit from a fine diversity of terroirs: Les Moriers, Les Garants, Poncié, La Roilette, Les Roches. The Morgon parcel is located on Bellevue (Corcelette terroir)... Fermentations are carried out using indigenous yeasts, and the grapes are vinified as whole grapes. Grégoire Hoppenot is well aware of how fortunate he is to work with such beautiful origins, and reflects this in his cuvées, which are touchingly sincere and unvarnished, respecting the qualities and limits of each vintage.

"Clos de l'Amandier has delivered 2018s and 2019s of beautiful gourmandise and great drinkability." (La Revue du Vin de France - June 2020) From the homonymous monopole at the foot of the Poncié climat, Clos de l'Amandier approaches a silky, elegant material. Like a magician, Grégoire Hoppenot brings a certain emotion to his cuvées with their pure, Burgundian style.

What an achievement! A lovely juice for a lovely Fleurie to bring to the table for all your guests to enjoy. Elegant nose and precise, structured palate for a ripe, generous, greedy wine where the tannins are already polished. Very promising. A winemaker to follow closely.
