Château La Gamaye
Owned by the Bourceau family for 6 generations, Château de la Gamaye is located in the commune of Berson, where wines have been produced since 1835.
From a surface area of 2 ha in the 1835s, the Bourceau vineyard was gradually increased to 20 ha. Today, the Vignobles Bourceau wine estate comprises 3 châteaux in 3 appellations: Château La Gamaye and Château Terriers des Cailloux in Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, and Château Haut Mangaud in Côtes de Bourg.

Since 2017, it's Wilfried who has become manager of the Vineyards and therefore of Château La Gamay. He is working to convert the 17 hectares of vines to organic farming.

"Numbered cuvée, produced only in certain vintages".

"Hand-harvested, fully vinified and aged for 18 months in barrels, everything has been thought out to create a complex, fragrant wine. On the nose, black fruits mingle with spices. These aromas (blackcurrant and pepper) also evolve on the fine, chiselled palate, with elegant tannins that stretch out well on the finish. A cuvée that does not lack distinction, nor potential ". "Crushed red fruits, blackberries, violets, walnut shell and dried orange zest on the nose. Medium-bodied, with firm, fine tannins. Juicy and tasty. Very well made. Try from 2024. (James Suckling 2021)

(2018 vintage notes)
malbec
elegant

Combining rarity and elegance, Folie rouge is made from Malbec vines averaging 50 years of age, which are rarely found in Bordeaux vineyards. As graceful as a classical ballet dancer, the cuvée's intense purple color reveals notes of violets, blackberries, black fruits and even tobacco. The palate is round and fruity, with a silky, generous tannic structure. Dare to splurge!
