reference

"A very pleasant feeling of tone!"

Reynon" displays floral notes and a few fruity nuances, then, above all, fine chalky notes that bring out the limestone. Slender in character, the wine's tannins give it a certain breadth. Its main asset is the harmony with which it reveals itself, in a linear fashion. An elegant wine to be enjoyed in its youth... and a little later too". (Yves Beck 2023)

Expert opinion

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

"Château Reynon, on the Beguey hillside next to the village of Cadillac, is owned by the family of Denis Dubourdieu (the pope of oenology who died in 2016). Thanks to its cultivation and technical efforts, it is now one of the most renowned crus of the Côtes de Bordeaux, with reds and whites in a racy, slender style, seductive in their straightforwardness and freshness. We'll be following the white and red wines, which are always good and affordable.

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (guide 2023) 88/100

About the wine:

From the outset, the wine is lively, almost acidic and quite sharp, with high acidity balanced by a rather lean, saline minerality. Touches of graphite, flint and wet stone mingle with the berries, while the fine tannins give the palate a crushed-stone, almost chalky texture. 2024-2032

Gault & Millau Wine Guide

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau

Estate rated (2010 guide) 5*Stars (Outstanding production)

About the domain :

"The reds are now among the best Premières Côtes de Bordeaux thanks to classic vinification and ageing methods that make sparing use of new barrels..."

RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France

Domaine noté (guide 2011) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :

"Reynon's reds have progressed well and, thanks to their silky texture, now rank among the best in the Cadillac Côtes de Bordeaux appellation...".

James Suckling

James Suckling

Rated wine (guide 2023) 89/100

About the wine:

Fruity nose of prunes, olives, black cherries, freshly turned earth and a hint of geranium. The palate is fleshy, juicy and fruity, even if the fruit profile is simpler. The tannins are fresh and grainy. Drink now.

Le Figaro vins

Wine rated (guide 2022) 90.5/100

About the wine:

Vanilla notes coat aromas of raspberry and blackcurrant. The palate is invigorating, with a lovely acidity reminiscent of wild blackberries from the hedgerow. The tannins are very smooth, with a freshness that dominates the finish and lingers for a long time. A very pleasant feeling of tonicity. 2022-2032

Rated wine (guide 2022) 89/100

About the wine:

Dark purple color with violet highlights and an almost black core. Aromatic nose of ripe fruit, dark berries and elderberry, with hints of blackcurrant jam in the background. Medium-bodied but well-structured on the palate, with ripe but firm tannins, restrained fruit and discreet herbal notes.
