Château Moulin Pey-Labrie
Bénédicte and Grégoire Hubau discover the exceptional terroir of Pey-Labrie Mill in 1988. They began their winegrowing activities at the same time, guided by Michel Rolland's sound advice. The château's first vintage of Canon-Fronsac was thus produced.

Château Moulin Pey-Labrie, situated on a clay-limestone hillside on molasse, extends over 6.75 hectares of vines, mainly planted with Merlot. The vineyard is farmed organically.

The Hubau couple also own Château Haut-Larivau and Château des Combes-Canon.

"This is a robust, well-structured wine, made for long ageing. Indeed, it would be a shame to taste it before 4 or 5 years. It's clearly the most masculine, concentrated and structured of the Canon-Fronsac wines. There's a lot of Merlot in this blend. This purple-tinged cuvée has notes of Asian plum sauce, crème de cassis and blackberry liqueur, as well as a hint of pencil sharpness. Fleshy, full-bodied and seriously gifted, this massive Canon-Fronsac needs time to tame. However, it has everything: acidity, tannin, extraction and considerable richness. It's an impressive wine and a revelation of the vintage." (Wine Advocate 2012 - Robert Parker)
