"Lots of cocoa powder and dark chocolate on the nose here, with blackberries, cherries, and blackcurrants on the palate. The palate adds licorice to the red fruit flavors. Supple and fleshy. Very accessible." (James Suckling 2018)

Wine rated (2021 guide) 90/100
Rated estate (2011 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)
About the estate:
This well-maintained estate demonstrates true rigor in its harvesting and selection processes. The wine is full-bodied and elegant, and the continuous improvement in production is evident in the latest vintages, thanks to the advice of Stéphane Derenoncourt. The wines are supple and harmonious, requiring three to five years of aging. The owners also own Château Haut-Bernat, in the Puisseguin-Saint-Emilion appellation.
