"Elegance, character and purity of fruit!"

"A soberly vat-aged white that delivers a lively fruitiness on the nose and palate (grapes, white fruit, fresh apple). A full-bodied wine on the attack, then vibrant and carried by a beautiful acidity with a mineral tone. An unvarnished, precise and invigorating wine to enjoy with grilled fish". Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (guide 2023) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)

About the domain :

Long considered one of the appellation's flagship estates, this very large property in southern Graves is owned by the Levêque family, also renowned Bordeaux brokers. It is now followed by Hubert de Boüard (Château Angélus), who produces a very typical wine, both red and white, destined for great success. Both red and white wines are highly expressive, finely aromatic, rather refined and well-balanced. Cuvée Caroline, the estate's flagship cuvée, is rich yet elegant.

A sober white, aged in vats, with a lively fruitiness on the nose and palate (grapes, white fruit, fresh apple). About the domain :

Created ex nihilo in 1967 by wine broker Henri Lévêque, this cru, which originally covered 2 ha, is now a fine unit of almost 100 ha (HVE3 certified), now run by the founder's daughter, Marie-Hélène Lévêque, advised since 2006 by Hubert de Boüard. An established name in Graves, with numerous Favorites awards to her credit.

Domaine noté (guide 2023) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).

About the domain :

An emblematic estate in Podensac, in the heart of the Graves appellation, Chantegrive was created by Henri Lévêque. This historic Bordeaux wine broker began the adventure in 1966, with just two hectares of vines. Long a pioneer in the production of ambitious wines, Chantegrive entered a slump in the early 2000s. The château, taken in hand by Marie-Hélène Lévêque with Hubert de Boüard's advice since 2006, is now producing wines that are once again among the appellation's finest references. Launched in 2020, the Les Oiseaux range gives an intelligently modern and playful image of Graves wines.

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Wine Enthusiast)

About the wine:

This textured wine is ripe and bursting with white fruit and citrus. Its richness is impressive, lending density to this slightly spicy wine. Drink from 2025.

Rated wine (guide 2023) 90/100

About the wine:

The nose is remarkably pure and precise. Green apples, limes and a hint of minerality follow through to a medium-bodied palate with fresh, medium acidity. The finish is bone-dry and supple. Semillon and Sauvignon. Drink now.

Wine rated (guide 2023) 90-92/100

About the wine:

Château De Chantegrive Blanc 2022 is beautifully textured and elegant, with ripe tropical fruit, flowers and menthol nuances. I love the purity of its fruit, its good concentration while remaining vibrant and light on its feet.

Rated wine (guide 2023) 91/100

About the wine:

Lemon and dried verbena aromas bring their dynamism, character and cheerfulness to a dashing nose, underscored by notes of clementine leaf, spice and gunflint. Like an iron fist in a velvet glove, the lemony flavors soften, evoking bergamot and citron, in a silky, tender texture. The finish, hesitating between a slight sweetness and a saline note, like a lemon preserved in salt, adds sapidity. 2024-2030

About the wine:

Elegant citrus, floral and pear aromas. The palate is supple, a little oily, thanks to the Semillon and the ageing on lees, with refreshing lemon aromas and a hint of pear. Without excessive vivacity, the wine is well-balanced, well-made and offers a wide range of uses.

Yves Beck

Wine rated (guide 2023) 90-92/100

About the wine:

With good intensity, Chantegrive's bouquet reveals smoky nuances followed by fruity and floral notes. The wine is elegant and slightly creamy. A lively, saline finish ensures temperament and freshness.
