Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2023 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Long considered one of the appellation's flagship properties, this very large estate in the southern Graves region belongs to the Levêque family, who are also renowned brokers in the Bordeaux region. It is now managed by Hubert de Boüard (Château Angélus), who produces very typical red and white wines destined for great success. Both the red and white wines are very expressive, delicately aromatic, rather refined, and well-balanced. The Caroline cuvée, the estate's flagship cuvée with a well-established reputation, is rich yet elegant.

An immaculate Graves table wine that deserves to be paired with the finest seafood and shellfish. 2025-2030

About the estate:

Created from scratch in 1967 by broker Henri Lévêque, this vineyard, which originally covered 2 hectares, is now a beautiful estate of nearly 100 hectares (HVE3 certified), currently run by the founder's daughter, Marie-Hélène Lévêque, advised since 2006 by Hubert de Boüard. A sure bet in Graves, with numerous Favorites its credit.

About the estate:

An iconic property in Podensac, in the heart of the Graves appellation, Chantegrive was created by Henri Lévêque. This historic Bordeaux wine broker began his adventure in 1966 with just two hectares of vines. Long a pioneer in the production of ambitious wines, Chantegrive experienced a slump in the early 2000s. The château, taken over by Marie-Hélène Lévêque with the advice of Hubert de Boüard since 2006, now produces wines that have regained their place among the appellation's finest. Launched in 2020, the Les Oiseaux range presents a cleverly modern and impulsive image of Graves wines.

Terre de Vins

Wine rated (2023 guide) 93-94/100

About wine:

This gourmet wine immediately captivates the nose with its exotic hint of vanilla and notes of lemon verbena and lime blossom. The palate is textured and rich, balanced by acidity, with flavors of pink grapefruit and lemon. A hint of minerality and sapidity enhances the overall experience.

Yves Beck

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2024 guide) 93/100

About wine:

The bouquet of Cuvée Caroline reveals hints of aging, but these are quickly replaced by aromas of citrus, spices, and verbena. Slightly salty on the attack, the wine displays a certain breadth and is well supported by a structure that ensures temperament and freshness right through to the finish. A sapid, harmonious, and ambitious wine. It can be enjoyed in its youth, but it will be very interesting to follow its evolution as it has considerable potential! 2025-2034
