"A lovely bottle with character!"
"It's really well made with creamy, slightly chewy tannins that add layers and density to the wine. It's medium to full-bodied, with lovely fruit and a touch of chocolate and nuts. Cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Needs time to develop." (James Suckling 2022) - Delivery in wooden case possible for orders of 12 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected)

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (2016 guide) 1*Star (A serious, recommendable production, in line with what one has the right to expect from its appellation(s))
About the domain :
Situated in the southern Médoc, this vast 60-hectare vineyard, ideally located near Châteaux Giscours and Cantemerle on the Macau hillside, is rightly gaining in renown. Since 1996, it has belonged to Jean-Pierre Marie, who works in partnership with his son Nicolas.
Decanter
Rated wine (guide 2022) 92/100
About the wine:
Gorgeous nose full of gently sweet blackcurrant. There's energy and life here, right away you get the rush of red and black fruits, strawberries and black cherries that fill the mouth with mouthwatering acidity fruit juice. Then the tannins settle in to give support and depth. This wine seems well made, with intensity and precision. The emphasis is on bright fruit with good acidity. An easy wine to drink and approach to enjoy its youthful energy, but you can also keep it for a few more years. 2023-2035
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (guide 2023) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
About the wine:
First vintage for the new owners of the cru, and a great success. An expressive Haut-Médoc, with ripe fruit, ample, fat and powerful on the palate, stretching into a long, silky-smooth finish. A "tactile" wine that will age well. 2026-2032

Domaine noté (guide 2016) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
The 2019 confirms its good dispositions and the wine has a lovely charm, with a palate that is both suave and energetic, well guided by Cabernets that tighten the finish and lend a welcome acidic note.
About the domain :
For several years now, this well-situated vineyard on the edge of the Margaux appellation has been producing a wine offering remarkable value for money. Under the guidance of Annick and Jean-Pierre Marie, it has gradually found its feet, and the ageing of the vineyard now enables it to reach a very high level, in a style that is seductive, but not without finesse.

Rated wine (guide 2022) 92/100
About the wine:
Cambon La Pelouse 2019 is a powerful, beefy Haut-Médoc. Black cherry, iron, tar, licorice, game, incense and tobacco add to a sense of gravitas. There's real depth here, with lots of character. 2025-2039

Rated wine (guide 2022) 92/100
About the wine:
It's really well made with creamy, slightly chewy tannins that add layers and density to the wine. It's medium to full-bodied, with lovely fruit and a touch of chocolate and nuts. Cabernet sauvignon and merlot. Needs time to develop. Try it after 2023.
Vert de Vin
Rated (guide 2022) 93/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is aromatic, offering a little power, a certain intensity and a fine grain. The wine benefits from decanting. Notes of fresh boysenberry, small ripe red berries and, more lightly, strawberry are combined with hints of star anise, small crunchy plums, as well as fine hints of graphite, camphor, spices, a subtle touch of cardamom and a hint of Sichuan pepper (in the background). The palate is fresh, mineral and offers roundness, fruitiness, a little fatness, a certain greediness, a little unctuosity, a pretty complexity, a fine grain, a little delicacy in its power as well as a little concentration. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of crushed blackberry, crushed wild strawberry and, more lightly, crushed redcurrant, combined with hints of licorice stick, pulpy violet plum and a touch of Bourbon vanilla, graphite and a subtle hint of incense. Good length. Subtle hint of star anise on the lingering finish.

Note and review by M. GILLES D. Published on 07/06/2023
The complexity of the flavors revealed on the palate echoes the festival of aromas perceived on olfaction (fruit, mocha, stavewood, balsamic, tobacco, etc.). Lively attack with a strong black cherry-milberry-blueberry character. Powerful, sappy palate combining richness and energy. Mineral framework built around tight, fine-grained tannins and underlined by pronounced acidity, which certainly brings freshness to the fat texture, but also an excess of nerve at this stage of the tasting. The interminable finish is of the same ilk. Waiting a little longer should allow the tannins to relax and the Cabernet acidity to be less overpowering. Very Médoc-like, this 2019, without being brilliant, is perfectly honorable. It paired harmoniously with roast guinea fowl from the Gers with fresh spring peas. Score = 3.9. .
