"An impressive vintage!"
"Harmony and a little charm make an ideal couple. They open up great prospects for Camensac 2020, but the tannins don't fail to offer structure and provide a good foundation for the whole palate. Even if "Camensac" means "the paths that lead to the water", the 2020 does not fail to lead to pleasure! A harmonious, fruity wine supported by precise, velvety tannins". (Yves Beck 2022) - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Château Camensac
Haut-Médoc
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2021) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
The Merlaut family strives to improve the wines from this vast vineyard, which borders on the Saint-Julien crus. Here, the emphasis is not on stunning samples, but on consistency and homogeneity in the quality of the wine delivered. The arrival of a new, talented director has brought greater rigor and precision to the elaboration of a wine that is truly Médoc in character, a little austere and reserved in the primeurs, but gradually letting the cedar and spices speak for themselves. So go for the latest vintages.

Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (guide 2024) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
About the wine:
This Haut-Médoc, born and bred of Merlot (47%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (53%), is a beautiful ruby color, with a harmonious nose of ripe black berries, toasty oak and eucalyptus. Dense, full-bodied and powerful, the palate is underpinned by solid tannins and pleasant freshness, guaranteeing the future of this fine bottle. 2027-2035

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
The wine has become tighter and more closed since our last tasting. It has substance and volume, but the finish is a little sharp, with tannins that are still trying to meld. A good-volume ensemble to follow.
About the domain :
Camensac, bought by the Merlaut family in 2005, is now managed by the Chasse-Spleen team, led by Céline Villars-Foubet and Jean-Pierre Foubet. Recent investments have provided the vineyard with a tool equal to the challenge. Over the last few vintages, progress has been substantial, and Camensac is one of the crus that wine-lovers should take a close look at, especially as prices remain very reasonable, which we are delighted about.

Le Figaro vins
Wine rated (guide 2023) 93/100
About the wine:
A fresh, aromatic bouquet of confident, elegant pink and red fruit. A full-bodied but mellow texture on the palate, combined with the purity and intensity of black fruits. Delicious.
Terre de Vins
Wine rated (guide 2021) 92-93/100
About the wine:
A lovely burst of red fruit, this wine is greedy and fresh. Crisp and chewy on the palate, with aromas of crushed strawberry and blackcurrant. Finely acidic, coated with firm tannins that should polish over time, this is a well-established wine.

Wine rated (guide 2021) 93/100
About the wine:
Deep purple color with violet tint and black core. Very elegant, rather closed nose, refined character with fragrant fruit. Discreet spices and pencil shavings. Notes of gunflint in the background with discreet floral notes. Excellent structure, tight weave with fine, almost silky tannins, fine acidity, elegant fruit and good balance, very convincing length.
