Château Cantemerle
Château Cantemerle is located in the Haut-Médoc appellation, on deep, fine gravel in the communes of Macau and Ludon, near Bordeaux. The vineyards of Château Cantemerle, a Grand Cru Classé, are subject to multiple influences, producing complex, balanced and refined wines that reflect their exceptional terroir.

The soil at Château Cantemerle is siliceous-gravelly. These gravels, the result of ancient erosion of the Pyrenees by the Garonne, are one of the key elements of a quality terroir. The soil is poor, and the vines need to "suffer" to produce concentrated grapes. Moreover, this sandy, pebbly soil is highly filtering and plays an active role in ripening the grapes, reflecting the sun's rays and retaining the heat accumulated during the day at night. The 87-hectare Château Cantemerle vineyard is mainly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with the addition of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Made mainly from young vines, Les Allées de Cantemerle is the second wine of Château Cantemerle, matured like its elder brother.

"Best-seller in the Haut-Médoc!

"Delicate cocoa aromas, depth of black fruit, elegant nose. For his last vintage at the helm of Cantemerle, Philippe Dambrine has produced a very pretty wine, very mocha-colored, creamy, built around a juicy mouth, set with racy tannins and very controlled ageing". (Terre de Vins 2021) - This Médoc Grand Cru Classé is one of the most accessible. It's a best-seller to keep in your cellar! - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 12 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

"So attractive!"

"A seductive second wine with a fine bouquet of violets, pepper and vanilla, and a well-built palate built around a firm tannic structure without harshness". (Guide Hachette des Vins - 2022) - Full of finesse and elegance, this second wine will provide immediate pleasure!

"Another very successful vintage from this estate. The structure of this wine is so fine that you notice the blackberry notes more than the tannins, thanks to this precise acidity like a seam that offers a mouthful of lace." (Wine Enthusiast) An impression of charm and delicacy in a subtle register of ripe fruit, fresh wood and tobacco that will improve with age. An outstanding cuvée in this great 2016 vintage! - Delivery in wooden cases for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method)

"A 2004 whose elegance is evident from its ruby color with flamed highlights. The bouquet, which greedily marries red berries to roasted coffee and warm breadcrumbs, continues in the same spirit, as does the dense, balanced and fresh palate. This wine is not yet ready: it needs three or four years before it can be fully appreciated". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2008)

"This is the finest Cantemerle I've come across in my professional career tasting young vintages. Superb deep ruby/purple color, with a lovely nose of spring flowers intermingled with raspberries and fragrant blueberry notes, it has a kind of fresh character. Broad, rich and intense on the palate, the wine has plenty of tannin, but it's soft and well-integrated. Everything is delicately entwined in this beautiful, medium-bodied wine, showing prodigious potential in its development. This is truly a major wine of the vintage, superior even to what I thought it would be in cask." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker) - Delivery in wooden case for orders delivered in France of 12 bottles of this wine.
