"Personality!"
"This excellent value wine is showing really well. The fresh, fleshy wine is bursting with sweet, ripe blackcurrants, bright, crisp plums and black cherries. Round, soft and polished, with lift and energy on the long finish." The brightness of the ripe fruit reflects the density of the mid-palate. The aromatic persistence and lovely ripeness of the tannins make this 2019 vintage a very gourmet wine.

Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Patrice Pagès skilfully manages the 40-hectare single-holding estate, which is planted on slightly clayey gravel soils. The wines are generally austere and closed in their youth, but gain in elegance with age.
Decanter
Wine rated (2020 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
A little more austerity than expected at the primeurs, but it has personality and is a discreet Listrac with lots of confident black fruit and brambles.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté Award-winning wines (Wines from this producer regularly win awards in the guide)
About the domain :
This cru, founded in the 18th century, took its present name in 1843, when Maître Dupré, solicitor to the Bordeaux Court of Appeal, purchased the estate. Since 1970, it has been owned by the Pagès family, covering 43 hectares on a lovely Pyrenean gravel terroir.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Domaine noté Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list, and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the domain :
The Fourcas-Dupré vineyard is planted in a single block on a beautiful gravelly hilltop. The estate, very well managed by Patrice Pagès, now assisted by his brother Ghislain, offers a classic, firm, slightly austere, sincere listrac with impeccable frankness of expression. Although the wines take time to make, they preserve their qualities over time and remain reasonably priced. A new, more modern approach to winemaking is underway, and recent vintages have been interesting.
James Suckling
Rated wine (guide 2021) 90/100
About the wine:
Fresh currants and berries on the nose. Medium-bodied with supple, elegant tannins. Juicy and fresh.
Vert de Vin
Rated wine (guide 2021) 90/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is flowery and intense. Notes of violet, blackberry and lilac are combined with hints of blackcurrant, wild strawberry, licorice, vanilla, toasted notes, fine cuben pepper and an imperceptible hint of salt. The palate is fruity, with minerality, freshness, suavity and acidity. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of fresh/juicy raspberry, crisp cherry and, more lightly, violet and rose, combined with touches of racy minerality, lilac, cardamom, almond and a discreet hint of chocolate. Well-balanced tannins.
