Château La Rose Perrière 2013
2*Coup de Coeur
Hachette
"[...] Its 2013 Rose Perrière has been awarded a Favorite echoing that achieved for the 2011 vintage. Merlot (90%) and Cabernet Franc, harvested by hand, were aged in 500-liter barrels. The result is a superb Lussac with a deep, dark color and an exuberant nose of black fruits and morello cherry, complemented by empyreumatic, vanilla, and spicy notes. The palate is very powerful, framed by dense, silky tannins and underscored by an appealing freshness that enhances the long finish. A wine that is already very well developed, but will benefit from further cellaring. (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017) - Delivered in wooden cases for orders of 6 bottles of this wine.

About wine:
Jean-Luc Sylvain, a renowned wine expert, remains a distinguished winemaker. This is evidenced by La Perrière's continued presence in the pages of the Guide. His 2013 Rose Perrière has been awarded a Favorite that achieved for the 2011 vintage.
About the estate:
Jean-Luc Sylvain, a renowned cooper from the Libourne region, exercises his talent not only on the container but also on the contents, through two estates: Ch. la Perrière in Lussac, a 14-hectare vineyard of monastic origin acquired in 2003, and Clos les Grandes Versannes, a Saint-Émilion grand cru taken over in 2004, a small vineyard (1 hectare) planted on the sand and gravel of Saint-Sulpice-de-Faleyrens, which has been in his family for three generations.
