Clos Manou is owned by Françoise and Stéphane Dief, two enthusiasts who vinified their first vintage in 1998. In 15 years, the vineyard has grown from 12 acres to 18, with a philosophy: produce the best, emphasize quality at all costs, both in the vineyard and in the wine; always seek a balance between all the ingredients that make up the winemaker's craft; know how to draw on tradition as well as modernity.
Clos Manou 's vineyards are planted in equal parts on three very different but complementary terroirs: deep gravel on clay bordering the Gironde estuary, sandy gravel at the bottom of the slope, and clay on limestone in the commune of Couqueques. Clos Manou is aged for 17 months in new barrels made exclusively from French origin wood, and the second cuvée, Petit Manou, for 12 months in the same barrels used for the first wine.
