"On the nose, the vibrant elegance of red fruits literally dances in the nostrils. This is followed by notes of white pepper and lilac blossom. Wonderfully balanced, fruity, and silky on the palate, with a more saline finish and grainy tannins. Not to mention good value for money. Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2021 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)
About the estate:
The vineyard boasts one of the best located and most consistent terroirs in Pauillac, with considerable potential from old Cabernet Sauvignon vines that give the wine its remarkable vinosity and very noble spicy aromas. François-Xavier Borie manages it with wisdom, skill, and an obvious loyalty to Médoc classicism. The second wine, Lacoste-Borie, has improved significantly since 2014, but will be produced in smaller volumes in the future as it will no longer include the young vines of Château Haut-Batailley.
Decanter
Wine rated (2022 guide) 91/100
About wine:
Highly fragrant, it offers aromas of blackcurrant and black cherry, with hints of raspberry and other red fruits. Juicy but slightly creamier and chalkier. This wine is quite dense without being heavy, but fairly concentrated, with a core of bright, intense fruit that extends from start to finish. 2023-2036

Wine rating (2022 guide) 90/100 (Outstanding wine)
Rated Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About wine:
Lacoste-Borie 2019 is a wine with immense charm. Escaping from the glass with aromas of blackcurrant, licorice, sweet spices, loamy soil, and cigar wrapper, it is medium-bodied to full-bodied, fleshy and consistent, with ripe tannins, succulent acidity, and a round and generous profile. 2023-2043

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
This estate has had only two owners in 75 years: Raymond Dupin, from 1932 to 1978, then the Borie family, represented today by François-Xavier and his daughter Emeline. They manage this fifth growth classified as a homogenous vineyard on the gravel and clay plateau of Grand-Puy, with a good proportion of old vines. Consistency has been flawless for a good decade now, and some older vintages still surprise. "GPL," as they say in Bordeaux, produces a classic Pauillac, full-bodied and lively, with richly spiced tannins and a rather straightforward style. In great vintages, it acquires a magnificent mellowness that improves with age.
Vinous
Wine rated (2021 guide) 92/100
About wine:
Lacoste-Borie 2019 was impressive when a barrel sample was sent to me last spring. Now bottled, it has a lively, fairly floral bouquet, almost similar to that of a Margaux, which bursts from the glass, with aromas of raspberry, rooibos, and blackcurrant. The palate is medium-bodied and well-concentrated, a little spicier than I remember, and a little sweeter on the finish, but with good length and admirable harmony. It should drink nicely after a few years. 2023-2040

Yves Beck
Wine rated (2021 guide) 92/100
About wine:
Fruity and spicy character, with good intensity. Hints of black pepper, eucalyptus, and blackberries. Delicious and juicy attack. The wine has muscle, body, and a beautiful fruity intensity on the finish. It will soften over the coming years. A sapid wine, very Pauillac and with good aging potential. 2024-2039
