"Outstanding, combining strength and elegance!"

"The color is still deep. The wine is already showing some development with notes of truffle, oyster shell, blackcurrant, Asian spices, dark red fruits, and cherry. This is a Latour of great elegance, with pure fruit and a silky texture, layers of concentrated fruit and a structure that will allow it to age for generations to come." (Jeff Leve 2018) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 3 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Wine rated 19/20 (Wine of exceptional quality)

Rated estate (2016 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)

About wine:

Admirable body, perfectly integrated oak, a great start in life! Drink between 2030 and 2045.

About the estate:

Latour is one of the most famous Médoc estates, having belonged to the Marquis de Ségur, like Lafite. Acquired by François Pinault in 1993, the wine, which, with the exception of the second half of the 1980s, was the epitome of consistency, did not rest on its laurels. Under the leadership of its rigorous director Frédéric Engerer, Latour has raised its standards even further over the past fifteen years. The château's grand vin has never been so harmonious from the outset, with an incomparably dense texture in exceptional years. The conversion of the vineyard to biodynamic viticulture, which is well advanced, should give it even more brilliance. The château's second wine, Les Forts de Latour, produced largely from an independent vineyard, fully deserves the esteem in which it is held, thanks to its remarkable quality. A third wine, simply labeled Pauillac but made with a high proportion of press wines from the great terroirs, ages with panache and consistency. Since 2012, the château has stopped marketing its wines as primeurs, and the marketing of older vintages for the three cuvées produced has become the norm.

About wine:

The aromas are truly magnificent, extremely aromatic, pure, clear, and precise, with notes of tobacco, cocoa, ash, and licorice. Round and heady, this is a sexy wine that has a lot to say, generous and open, smooth and layered—it immediately deepens vertically. I love the juiciness, the clarity of the raspberries, blueberries, and blackcurrants, the finesse and joie de vivre, but the texture is there, with wet stone and licorice tannins that give this wine grip and power. It is still young and quite serious, but it has something very appealing, with a sexy character and great complexity. Bright and lively, but with the sweetness of a ripe vintage and savory notes of truffle, cocoa, and dark chocolate that create a contrast. Very pleasant floral scents of violet follow the wine from start to finish. This wine is perfectly mastered and delivered with supreme appeal. A wine you want to sit down and take your time with, before devouring it! 2025 - 2048

Wine rating (2019 guide) 3*Coup de Coeur (Exceptional wine)

About wine:

The 2015 vintage will be remembered as one of extremes and records, with very hot, dry periods (June and July) and very wet periods (August and September). The result of this exceptional vintage, this great wine once again offers a masterful definition of its origin. The appearance of this almost pure Cabernet Sauvignon (more than 97% of the blend) immediately promises an intense tasting experience with its deep, almost black color. The explosive nose, dominated by black fruits (blueberry, blackberry, black cherry), also evokes flowers (violet, peony), leather, coffee, and spices (vanilla, cinnamon). Surprisingly full-bodied, this 2015 unfolds an extraordinary palate, combining strength and elegance with an almost delicate side in the finesse of the tannins and aromas. The finish, fresh and with exceptional aromatic persistence, leaves an impression of great purity, without heaviness or softness. A wine that is as unique as ever. 2026-2040

Rated estate (2016 guide) 3 stars (These represent the excellence of French vineyards. The best terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical moment.)

About the estate:

Owner of the estate since 1993, François Pinault can congratulate himself on his investment. The wine is at the very top of the Bordeaux hierarchy and has continued to show unfailing consistency for several decades. It is difficult to find fault with Latour, even in lesser vintages. It represents the very essence of great Pauillac: full-bodied, rich and complete, developing a complex and distinguished bouquet with age. There is no shortage of legendary vintages, and anyone who has had the chance to taste the 1945, 1947, 1961 or 1982 knows what this fantastic terroir is capable of. The current director, Frédéric Engerer, faithfully maintains the uncompromising style. The complete overhaul of the cellars and technical facilities in recent years, as well as a drastic selection process, have enabled the wine to reach new heights. At the same time, Les Forts de Latour has established itself as an equally extraordinary wine, surpassing many classified growths in refinement and depth. Finally, a third label, Pauillac de Latour, is also worthy of interest for wine lovers. It should be noted that since the 2012 vintage, the château no longer sells its wine en primeur, but only "on delivery" when the team considers it to have reached maturity. This is a unique commercial policy for a grand cru classé.

About wine:

Barrel sample. Very structured yet so smooth, this wine is highly concentrated with powerful tannins. It is wonderfully juicy, and its dense, dusty tannins are never harsh, but always velvety. It will be a great wine when it is released in about ten years. The wine comes exclusively from biodynamic vineyards.

About wine:

Aromas of iron, oyster shell, rust, and stone with blueberries and blackberries. The wine is full-bodied, yet still polished and refined. It rolls across the palate with fruity and salty flavors. Tight, concentrated, and still refined. Beautiful length. 97% Cabernet Sauvignon gives it its brilliance.

About wine:

In 2015, Latour presented an almost single-varietal wine with 97.1% Cabernet Sauvignon, just 2.6% Merlot, and 0.3% Petit Verdot. On the greatest terroirs of the Médoc, Cabernet Sauvignon is becoming extremely dominant and will probably soon be the only variety used. The nose is refined, pure, and creamy. Full-bodied on the attack, powerful in its development, and rich on the mid-palate, the wine evolves with a noble texture and lots of flavor, leading to a finely creamy finish rich in aromas. Captivating from the outset.
