"[...] The bouquet is well defined, starting with aromas of raspberry and wild strawberry. The wood is well integrated, and pleasant undergrowth aromas appear with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied, with supple tannins and well-controlled acidity, leading to a lingering spicy finish. This is a fine wine, in line with the 2014, fresh and classy, which was not the case 10 years ago." Château Lynch-Moussas
Pauillac
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated (2018 guide) 15.5/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (2020 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
Fruity, harmonious, balanced, made for relatively quick consumption, but with beautiful fruit and a tenderness rare in Pauillac.
About the domain :
Philippe Castéja has worked hard to restore a superb family estate in the Pauillac hinterland. The aging of the vines and the construction of a high-performance work tool enable him to produce a supple, fleshy wine that is constantly improving. Its terroir enables it to open up before most of the wines in its appellation, which should make it more present on restaurant menus, with good value for money.
Guide Hachette des vins
Domaine noté (guide 2021) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the domain :
Owned since the 18th century by Count Lynch, until it was divided in two, giving Lynch Moussas and Lynch-Bages. Émile Castéja, who joined the family in 1919, took over the estate in 1969 and restructured the vines and winery. His son Philippe has been at the helm of this 35-hectare cru, close to Batailley, also owned by the Castéja family, since 2001.

This is a fine wine, in line with the 2014, fresh and classy, which was not the case 10 years ago.

Domaine noté (guide 2020) Sélectionné (We remind you that this guide is a prize list and as such, all the estates that appear in it, even without a star, represent, in our eyes, the excellence of French production).
About the wine:
The 2015 is at its best, with beautiful definition and a thickness of mouth that we didn't know it had. Full-bodied and fleshy, with racy tannins. To be followed closely.
About the domain :
For several years now, Philippe Castéja has been giving new impetus to this classified growth. Oenologist Denis Dubourdieu has carried out extensive work on the estate, starting with the reorganization of the vineyard. Over the last few vintages, the wines have progressed and the château benefits from technical facilities that should enable it to go even further. Lynch-Moussas produces a relatively fine, medium-bodied wine that can be drunk fairly quickly.
Wine Enthusiast
Wine rated (2018 guide) 94/100
About the wine:
This estate has greatly improved, producing some very impressive wines in recent vintages. The wine is structured and tannic, but also full of black fruit, with good acidity and spice. It will need time to develop, so wait to drink it until at least 2025.

About the wine:
Oak enters the frame here to greater effect, leading the nose with creamy cake spices ahead of ripe cassis and red plums. The palate is amply fleshy with red cherry and plum, before supple tannins give way to a neat finish. 79% Cabernet Sauvignon and 21% Merlot. Try from 2021.
