"In 2012, Les Tourelles de Longueville reveals a ruby/purple color that's slightly denser, richer and more complex than Les Griffons. Honestly, it doesn't look like a second wine. This is a very fine wine, with intense notes of crème de cassis, charcoal and graphite on the nose. Full-bodied, silky and delicate, a superb second wine - certainly one of the best I've tasted from this vintage. "Revealing incredible quality, better than that perceived in barrel, the 2009 appears to be the greatest Pichon Longueville Baron since the 1990s and 1989. Its stunning opaque blue/purple color is followed by scents of spring flowers, graphite, smoky charcoal, incense, blackberry, blueberry and hints of coffee and chocolate. Incredibly intense, pure and perfectly constructed with extravagant nuances of fruit and richness, this wine has been admirably crafted under the direction of Christian Seeley. This is a voluptuous, opulent Pichon Longueville Baron, capable of eclipsing anything they've made in the past. This brilliant wine should be at its peak between 2018 and 2045."
