A blend of Cabernet and Merlot, Château Espiot reveals its dark ruby color. The nose, fruity and floral with a touch of spice, is in harmony with the palate. Supple and fine, this organic Pessac-Léognan is a perfect match for grilled meats or meats in sauce.

About the domain :

In 2004, the Espiot family, already owners in the Blayais region, took over this cru formerly known as Ch. Ladoar: 8.7ha not far from Châteaux Smith Haut Lafitte and Bouscaut. Sébastien Espiot has been at the helm since 2007, returning to the family estates after ten years working for a multinational company.

Very light wine, insufficiently dense structure. In 2019, it's coming to the end of the road. Does not deserve the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Ruby color with orange fringe. Classic nose with hints of strawberry and orange. Tender on the palate, reminding me of the strawberry taste of certain Chinons or Saumurs. Little subtlety. Reminds me of a really low-end Saint-Estèphe. I imagine that the owners will continue to upgrade this cru. In the meantime, a totally uninteresting product. To be forgotten.

Maximum acidity not worthy of a Pessac over 18€.

deserves a little more conservation, but a real pleasure with white meat, roundness and a very pleasant nose.
