Château Haut-Bailly
Daniel Sanders acquired Château Haut-Bailly in 1955, and set about restoring the vineyard to its original size and equipping it with the equipment and tools essential for making quality wine. Since 1979, his son Jean Sanders has taken over and completed his work. The distinction, bouquet, fatness and color of Château Haut-Bailly wines, together with their good development and staying power, make them of great pedigree, worthy of being placed at the forefront of the great wines of France.
The current owners, Robert and Elisabeth Wilmers, are committed to quality at every stage of production and selection. Château Haut-Bailly was indeed one of the very first to produce second wines, since it was in 1967 that the finest lots lacking the desired structure for the first wine were put on the market under the name : "La Parde de Haut-Bailly".

"The 2016 Haut-Bailly is a medium to deep garnet-purple color. The nose opens with beautiful floral notes of violet and lavender accented by earthy notes and chips of crushed stone over a core of kirsch, blackcurrant and wild blueberry. Full-bodied, rich and seductive, it presents successive layers of red, black and blue fruits mingling with earth and mineral notes to culminate in a very long, perfumed finish." (Wine Advocate 2018).
