Château Haut-Bailly was created in 1630 by a Parisian banker, Firmin Le Bailly. But its history was strongly influenced in the 19th century by an extraordinary figure: Alcide Bellot des Minières, who brought scientific rigor to its management and brought the quotations up to the level of those of the "Premiers Crus".
