This cru stands out as much for its whites as for its reds, which are very often judged to be remarkable (five "coups de coeur" in total, the last of which was for the 2005). The 2010 seems to be a little behind the times, even though it retains a very good hold. Round, lively and full-bodied, it seduces with its citrus and white flower aromas. It will make a very pretty bottle as soon as the toasty woodiness, present both on the nose and palate, has subsided. It would go well with a blanquette of monkfish". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins)

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2013 guide) 16.5/20 (Reference wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the wine:
Elegant, well-crafted, with exotic fruit, floral and marshmallow aromas, fleshy, aromatic, long and refreshing on the palate.
About the domain :
This cru classé is a model of family ownership, with all the Kressmann children showing an almost filial attachment to their estate and very sound management. The reds have gained in tannin finesse and textural elegance. The wines are classic, with the emphasis on fruit, tannin quality and freshness. Under the guidance of the very talented and rigorous Valérie Vialard, the whites are irreproachable, precise, aromatic and perfectly lively.

About the domain :
While many of the great names of the Bordeaux wine trade have chosen to establish themselves in the Médoc, the Kressmanns have opted for the Graves and this cru, acquired in 1930, which owes its name to a tower adorning its courtyard, a vestige of a château built in the 12th century by ancestors of Montesquieu. This beautiful 50-hectare estate is renowned for both its white and red wines.

Domaine noté Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
Crisp, mineral, with notes of ripe fig, mango, crème brûlée, lemon cream, it's a beauty with some toasty oak nuances. Drink over the next decade.
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Wine rated (2014 guide) 16.5/20 (Very good wine)
Domaine rated (guide 2023) 2*Stars (These great estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the wine:
Already delicious, the finely oaked 2010 white reveals fatness and a silky, seductive character.
About the domain :
This is a fine example of a family estate, still in the hands of the Kressmanns, a historic family of Bordeaux merchants. Today, Tristan and Loïc Kressmann are at the helm of this well-situated cru classé on the Martillac plateau. The different generations have respected the heritage handed down, while making progress in vineyard management and winemaking with their cellar master, Valérie Vialard. The château inaugurated a new vinification cellar for red wines with the 2019 vintage. Without yielding to the siren calls of passing fashions, the wines have retained their elegant, precise style, but are gaining in density. This convincing balance between tradition and modernity, together with the particularly distinguished character of recent vintages, leads us to award Latour-Martillac a second star.
